At the top of the tunnel just before it widens  it measures 2-3\/4 inch  and at the top bracket the tunnel measures 3-3\/8 inch. You must use an XLS or shorter seat for 1982-up models. Please test fitment before painting. Tank weld seams may require filler to meet your individual requirements. Do not grind or sand the seams as this may cause leaks. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean  condition  and seal. This will hlep to stop leaks and prevent corrosion. Check petcock opening  making sure the petcock can be easily installed. Petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of petcock. Order FXR\/FXD dash panel kit in chrome or black  separately. *NOTE: UPS may consider this part as packaged  inchoversize inch for shipment  as compared to the actual weight  which will result in higher shipping costs.
