Inspired by Erwin inchCannon Ball inch Baker's Transcontinental motorcycle ride from San Diego to New York City in 1914 the author Don Emde began two years of study and a cross-country ride to recreate Baker's actual route. The cross-country ride with Emde and two dozen supporters that followed was named the inchFinding Cannon Ball's Trail Centennial Ride inch. They left San Diego at 9:00 a.m. on May 14 2014 exactly 100 years to the minute from when Baker had. They then adhered to a pace to arrive in Manhattean exactly 100 years after Baker had.
